What gets remembered
Facts the agent decides are durable. Decisions, commitments, people, project state, preferences. Written as they come up. Your conversations with KARMAX. Each channel thread is stored and periodically compacted, and memories form from what was actually said. This is why you do not have to tell KARMAX to remember something for it to know it. Not other people’s conversations. The WhatsApp chats KARMAX watches on your behalf contribute memories — that Siva asked about the APK, that a deadline moved — but are never stored as transcripts. They are conversations with people who did not agree to be recorded.Reading and correcting it
When KARMAX asks if something is still true
Time-sensitive facts go stale. A deadline passes; a “temporary” plan becomes permanent or gets dropped. KARMAX periodically picks the stalest such fact and asks you about it, from whichever channel you are in:🕰️ Still relevant? “Rameez to draft his experience letter” — from June 22.Answering closes it. If you say it is done, the fact is forgotten — but only when the answer identifies one fact. A GitLoom path names a subject, and one file can hold a hundred facts about it, so “that deadline is done” never deletes everything KARMAX knows about the project it belonged to.
Where it lives
Without a GitLoom key, memory stays entirely local in SQLite. That is the
offline path, and it is a supported way to run KARMAX — not a degraded mode.
